AMBOSS is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Accreditation in the ACCME System seeks to assure the medical community and the public that AMBOSS delivers education that is relevant to clinicians’ needs, evidence-based, evaluated for its effectiveness, and independent of commercial influence.
Mission statement
AMBOSS aims to effectively meet the continuing education (CE) needs of practicing physicians. AMBOSS manages, designs, implements and measures the impact of educational interventions that improve physician competence and/or performance, to ultimately improve patient health outcomes. AMBOSS maintains a leading accredited CE provider unit by curating its network of both internal and external expert contributors, collaborating in strategic partnerships, and relying on established principles of adult learning, effective project management and evidence-based medicine.
Expected Results
AMBOSS designs activities to enhance the knowledge and clinical competence of learners within the target audience of each accredited CE activity, with the goal of improving the quality of clinical care they provide in practice (as measured by self-report) and ultimately, patient outcomes. For each accredited CE activity, AMBOSS assesses changes in knowledge and competence. Higher outcomes levels, including performance measures, are collected and assessed when the opportunity exists to evaluate learners’ respective clinical practices.
