Activity description

  • Purpose: To promote the professional development of pediatric clinicians.
  • Educational objectives:
    • Demonstrate an increase in your knowledge of pediatric medicine.
    • Evaluate the appropriateness of clinical information as it applies to the care of your patients.
    • Demonstrate an improvement in your ability to make decisions that provide safe and effective medical care.
    • Recognize areas of personal strength and areas for growth in clinical knowledge.
  • Target audience: Physicians and residents who are seeking to maintain and augment their knowledge in pediatric medicine and/or preparing for their initial board certification or recertification.
  • Funding source: None
  • Content: CME content is developed by a team of physician authors and editors in a standardized process that includes multi-stage peer review. The research sources that are used include updated best practice guidelines and expert recommendations, are adherent to accepted standards of scientific evidence, and are fully referenced. Content is free of bias and adheres to the ACCME’s Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education as it relates to commercial bias (see here).

Maintenance of Certification (MOC)

American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Maintenance of Certification Program: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 164.25 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

Accreditation term

This activity was initially developed by the Massachusetts Medical Society in 2017, and acquired by AMBOSS in April 2024.

Instructions for receiving credit

In order to receive a Certificate of Credit (physicians) or a Certificate of Participation (non-physicians) for participation in this activity, learners must complete the evaluation and submit a request for credit.
The evaluation and credit submission request can be accessed at the conclusion of the course on your CME page via https://www.amboss.com/us.

  1. Click the Profile icon in the top right > View your CME page. You will need to fill out your personal information for your CME Profile if you have not done so already.
  2. Under your profile, you will see 4 activities listed:
    - Internet Point of Care CME
    - Family Medicine Board Review CME
    - Internal Medicine Board Review CME
    - Pediatrics Board Review CME
  3. Click “Claim credits” at the bottom right of the activity for which you wish to claim credits. Before clicking “Claim credits”, please make sure that all of your CME profile information is correct. Please also note that the American Board of Pediatrics does not accept multiple credit submissions for this activity on the same day.
  4. Tick the box next to the credits you wish to claim in the To Claim tab and then click "Claim X credits" in the bottom right. 

     

  5. A pop-up box will appear with some brief post-activity evaluation questions. Answer the questions, and click “Submit.”
  6. The search entry will then disappear from the list in the “To claim” tab and will appear in the "Claimed" tab, with the date that it was claimed. You will see one of the following tags on the search entry: 
    - Submitted: The credit was successfully submitted to the board listed in your profile.
    - Rejected: The credit was unsuccessfully submitted to the board listed in your profile.
    - Not submitted: There was no board listed in your profile at the time of submission.

    You will also see an option to download a PDF that certifies your credit.

The deadline to claim credit is December 31, 2029.
