For large tables, I think it would significantly improve the student experience if the headers were frozen. This would allow students to see the column labels while scrolling down the rest of the table.

We definitely agree that keeping the column headers visible while scrolling through larger tables would make them much easier to navigate. While this isn't currently supported, I can absolutely see how it would improve the experience!
