How predictive is the AMBOSS Self-Assessment?
Just like the real Step Exams, AMBOSS Self-Assessments place students on a scale relative to peers who are taking the Self-Assessment at the same time. Our questions, crafted by USMLE experts, are highly representative of what you will see on exam day.
After purchasing, how long will the Self-Assessment be available for?
After purchase, you can take it any time—there’s no expiry date. You’ll be able to take the Self-Assessment whenever and wherever it’s convenient for you.

Can I take the Self-Assessment on a mobile device?
We recommend you take the Self-Assessment on a desktop, so it’s most similar to the environment you’ll experience when you take the real USMLE later on. Technically, you can take the Self-Assessment in a browser on your mobile device, but we don’t recommend doing that.
When will my answers and study recommendations be available?
After each block, you can review the questions you answered and access some recommended articles to read. Once you finish all blocks, you’ll get a full Score Report, including study recommendations in the form of articles and Qbank sessions.
My school offers an AMBOSS Self-Assessment. Is this the same thing?
If your school provides you with the AMBOSS Self-Assessment, the questions there are the same as the ones on the Self-Assessment for sale on the AMBOSS website. If you buy this Self-Assessment, you will see the same questions again.
