What is the Step 1 Self-Assessment?

The AMBOSS Step 1 Self-Assessment is a simulation of the USMLE® Step 1 exam. It consists of four question blocks of 40 questions each and is presented in the NBME®’s official timed format. It reflects the relative distribution of topics on the actual USMLE® exam. Students who joined our Self-Assessment Week, which ran from February 20 - February 28, 2021, will receive their 3-digit-score report on March 3, 2021.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to take the self-assessment after February 28th. Our scoring calculation is set up in the same way as the actual Step 1 exam is scored — scaled according to the performance of your peers who take the assessment with you. For this reason, we only run the self-assessment during the week stated. If you missed our Step 1 Self-Assessment Week, you are welcome to sign up here to be emailed once a relevant self-assessment becomes available!
