How to earn CPD credits with AMBOSS

First, make sure that your AMBOSS profile is filled out with the correct information corresponding to your name and current clinical role in both the Contact details & settings and Career & study profile sections.

How are CPD hours calculated?

For every CPD-certified AMBOSS article you read, you can earn 0.5 CPD hours. The system automatically tracks your reading time, and you can download a certificate upon completion. You can find all CPD-eligible articles directly in the AMBOSS platform under Library > CME eligible articles.

How long do I have to claim my CPD hours?

You can claim your CPD hours for up to two years from the end of the year in which you earned them. For example, if you earned CPD hours in September 2024, you have until December 31, 2026, to claim them.

How do I submit my CPD certificate?

  1. Download your CPD certificate from the CME section in AMBOSS.
  2. Upload your certificate to AMA CPD Home for verification.
  3. Alternatively, you can report your CPD hours via the Australian Medical Association

What if my accrediting body is not listed?

If AHPRA is not your accrediting body, check with your specific medical board to confirm if they accept CPD hours from AMBOSS. You may need to manually submit your certificate to your board.

How can I track my CPD progress?

  • AMBOSS automatically tracks your reading time once you start an article.
  • Check your progress within the AMBOSS web platform by heading to Exams & CME > CME credits on the left sidebar.

Can non-Australian physicians earn CPD hours with AMBOSS?

While AMBOSS is officially CPD-certified in Australia, some international boards may accept these credits. If you’re outside Australia, check with your local medical board to confirm eligibility.

If you have questions that cannot be answered by the above please email us at hello@amboss.com.
